Art Nouveau

For the past few months I've been extremely interested in the Art Nouveau movement. I love the sense of flow and nature incorporated into designs from this period...
 "Art Nouveau Ring" (Jewelobsessed)
"Designed by Alphonse Marie Mucha for Georges Fouquet, 1900" (Beautiful Century)
"Interior of the Tassel House, 1893" (NGA)
"Jugenstil Doorway for the Gluckert Furniture Company, 1901" (Doorways of the World)
"Carlo Bugatti Desk, 1902" (Metropolitan Museum of Art)

Old Flea Market Owl Bookends

Pair of Bronze Bookends shaped like Owls (and handmade in Israel!). I purchased these for $10 at the Hell's Kitchen Flea Market a few months ago.
I can imagine these.... holding up books on the mantel of a 6" tall ancient fireplace... or in more practical situations, serve as napkin holders... or as candle stands...

What a $3 find

I got this great leather coach purse at the Westbeth Beautification Indoor Yard Sale. Cost me a mere $3 and feels like it will last forever. The treasures indoor yard sales hold.

Vintage "Kitchen Stock List"

Published August 27, 2008 at 9:24 PM

Found this at the "Antiques Garage" in Chelsea (25th street). I can just imagine those prim '50's housewives checking off items on their shopping lists!
